The project, in a nutshell
We designed and developed a clean and simple database management tool for Stepping Stones with companion apps for Parents/Carers and Teachers.
Stepping Stones, a leading provider of children’s swimming lessons across Edinburgh and the Lothians, approached Bad Dinosaur to deliver a database management tool that would enable them to manage all back-office administration activities on one platform.
We developed a cloud based database to enable Stepping Stones to seamlessly manage swimmer profiles, classes, timetables, swimming pool locations, attendance, teacher allocation, teacher management, session payments and subscription management, as well as deliver comprehensive business reporting.
We also designed and developed companion apps for parents of swimmers and teachers. The Parent Portal app allows parents/carers to login and view class information, venue details and track their child(ren’s) progress through class levels.
The Teacher app provides class teachers with easy access to class venues, times, swimmer registration and attendance tracking. Offline functionality was built-in to the app to ensure continuity of service without the need for internet access.
The final result was a clean and functional solution, enabling Stepping Stones to deliver excellent customer service, grow their market share and reduce time spent on back-office administration tasks.
