When trying to work out whether an agency is a good match for you, have a good read through of the portfolio and case study section on their website. Companies usually like to share the projects they have worked on and it gives an indication of whether the agency has expertise in the field of your interest. Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for additional examples of work either, most agencies will be very happy to share examples and this will help put your mind at ease.

Feedback Matters 

Find an agency that is a good cultural fit for you. When developers or designers tell you that something would be the best solution for your project, it’s important that you trust their judgement. A good agency will want to help you and will be invested in your project being successful, if trust within the relationship does not exist, the product will suffer as a result. Get to know the team that you will be working with and decide if you like them and want to trust them with your project  - and then follow through by listening and trusting that they know what they’re doing. 

What are other people saying?

Review sites offer an impartial insight into other peoples experiences of working with the agency you are researching. Google reviews are a good starting point and easy to find. Clutch is another really good review based site, read what clients have had to say about us in the past as an example of independent client feedback. 

Price vs. Quality

Cheapest does not always mean best. It is very important to spend time evaluating who has the right skills and experience to deliver your project. A wrong fit can mean that you have to hire a second agency further down the line to correct what your original contractor did wrong. It is worth investing with the right person/team from the very beginning to ensure you get a high-quality app development service that will give you value for your money.
