Last week was International Women’s Day 2022 and it got us thinking about how we can continue to encourage more women to think about a career in technology.
In February our Managing Director, Kyle Whittington, ran a careers workshop at a local school. The school runs an after school coding club which has almost a 50/50 gender split of children attending, a very encouraging sign and something that the school and supporting organizations have focussed their efforts on. Throughout the country this would not be a typical trend.
There is evidence that shows many benefits to exposing girls to STEM fields and offering encouragement from a young age. We plan on participating in a number of STEM workshops with other local primary schools throughout the year, in the hope that we can inspire young girls to think about considering a STEM career as they get older.
