Last week our Managing Director, Kyle Whittington, was invited by Spartans Community Football Club to visit a local primary school to deliver a talk about careers in technology.
The Primary 7 class at St David’s Roman Catholic Primary School joined us for the session to learn more about a day in the life of a developer and what a future career in tech might look like. We hope we were able to inspire some of these youngsters to think outside the box when it comes to what they might be able to achieve in the future.
After the talk we spent the remainder of the afternoon using Spheros with the children. Spheros are educational kits and robots to bring effective STEM learning into the classroom. A great practical activity for a variety of different skill levels.
It was great to see the engagement amongst the students and we were asked some really good questions. We are looking forward to working in partnership with Spartans Community Football Club for the rest of this year to deliver more STEM workshops with other local schools.
